Colleen manages organizational development processes, advances strategic initiatives, and contributes to the work of the President/CEO and COO at the NRGI. Colleen spent four years as a political appointee in the Obama administration, both at the White House, as assistant director for operations in the Office of Cabinet Affairs, and at the U.S. Mission to the UN, where she was an aide to the U.S. Ambassador. She also served on a U.S. Department of Justice program for first responders and others who were sickened by their exposure to debris in the aftermath of the September 11th attacks. Colleen studied political science and poverty at the University of Notre Dame.

Max Joseph Brett

Max Brett is a communications officer with the Natural Resource Governance Institute (NRGI). In over two years with NRGI, Max has co-led the organization’s social media efforts; edited, rewritten and shaped blogs, press releases and other written communications from NRGI; edited and guided reports through publication; contributed to the organization of outward-facing communications opportunities at global events; and supported staff extensively. Max has an investigative journalism background. Max has a bachelor of science in journalism with extensive studies in the theory and practice of visual art from Northwestern University.
