Implementing transparency faces formidable challenges in the decentralized governance. All these efforts seem overarching the formal procedures at the national level, such as ownership, licensing, and revenue management, but limited encompassing informal features which are deeply ingrained in the social-political features at the local level. This article highlights the role of transparency which is actual to advance market-relevant information but insufficient to develop information which is relevant to the needs of citizens. In the absence of citizenship framework, the implementation of transparency limited concerns in eliminating informality to raise accountability. On the contrary, it might do undermining the community-based economy which is often stuck down by informality as the consequences.

NRGI has worked with the Asia-pacific and all regional knowledge-hubs to develop a survey for our hubs' training alumni. This online survey will be a tool for all hubs to have an integrated database of alumni, as today NRGI's hubs and global course have produced 1319 alumni, in which ASPAC itself has as much as 137 alumni coming from 19 countries.
For centuries, the Indonesian island of Belitung was known by outsiders for little more than its tin industry. Ten years on, the island has clear appeal. Azure waters, golden sandy beaches and smooth, stacked boulders mark its coastline. Many of Belitung’s inhabitants want to capitalize on this beauty. But further inland, the mining sector’s continued hold and the challenges of economic diversification are apparent.
The Batch 5 course is special for several reasons. For the first time, the course among the previous editions which is implemented outside the university location in Yogyakarta. Belitung is chosen as the course location because it has a long history in thin mining and the development of tin mining in the island provides an intriguing first-hand exposure to the intricacy of extractive industries governance at the sub-national level. In addition, the course added several tools within the basic framework on the natural resources decision-chain.

(FCX) to extend PT Freeport Indonesia’s (PTFI) operation, possibly, until 2041 has left an important issue untouched. The fourth Asia Pacific Hub Training has introduced series of methods to advance accountability of resource governance in Asia Pacific. Twenty six participants from 10 countries joined and experienced in cross-countries learning and exchanging expert practitioners aims to improve the quality of extractive governance in their respective countries as well as enhance multi-parties coalition for reform in the Asia Pacific countries members. As many as 26 people from 10 different countries participated in an oil and gas management training held at Bojonegoro on Monday, January 16, 2017. Representatives from Myanmar, Indonesia, Vietnam, Philippines, Australia, India, Timor Leste, Mexico, Mongolia, and Afghanistan were present in the training.

PT Pertamina (Persero) oil state company supports the implementation of one price fuel policy all over Indonesia. The company performance will be directed to support this government policy in order to drive the country’s economic growth. In the past two years, Pertamina has optimised its five business pillars from upstream to downstream to secure national energy demands.
From 9 to 20 January 2017, 26 participants from ten countries - Indonesia, Timor Leste, Vietnam, Myanmar, the Philippines, India, Mexico, Mongolia, Australia, and Afghanistan – are taking part in the fourth annual Asia Pacific Knowledge Hub Training. This year, the course has promoted “Advancing Accountable Resource Governance in Asia Pacific” as the main topic of the training program.
The upcoming training on "Improving The Governance of Extractive Industries" in Yogyakarta, Indonesia from 9 to 21 January 2017 will introduce the new tool for various actions to improve a country's resource governance. The tool has been published by Natural Resource Governance Institute (NRGI) through five years of testing in more than 15 country projects.

RegINA proposed the memo of key ideas in front of the Chief of KSP and also deputies Yanuar Nugroho and Deni Puspa Purbasari.
Forum defined the essential of transparency at the workshops facilitated by the Research Center for Politics and Government (PolGov), FISIPOL, UGM on April 6 to 7 in Jakarta. The workshop entitled "Transparency as Passion" was supported by the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, Indonesia EITI Secretariat, Global Affairs Canada, Natural Resources Governance Institute (NRGI), and the World Bank. The workshops were attended by representatives of the parties in the management of extractive industries in Indonesia, including the government, practitioners, academics, and activists of civil society organizations.
Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources will tighten the monitoring of coal mining reclamation to minimize impact of environmental damage. Director General of Mineral and Coal, Bambang Gatot Aryono stated to the press that land reclamation as the post mining activities is compulsory for every mining company even the reclamation fund has been paid to the local government according to the standard of operational procedures. Government will apply the auction system in mining license process in providing transparency and clean management to avoid license overlapping.
